분포; 남서부태평양/오스트렐리아 남동부, 로드하우 섬, 뉴질랜드 북부에 분포.
일반개요; Amphichaetodon 속은 본종 포함 2종이 알려져 있다. 등쪽은 노랗고 배쪽은 은백색이며 3개의 넓은 흑색 띠가 몸에 있고 가는 흑색 띠가 머리에서 눈을 지나며 꼬리지느러미 기부에도 흑색 띠가 있다. 주둥이 중심선에도 흑색 띠가 있다. 산호가 있는 바위지대 10~150m 수심에 살며 보통 50m 이상 깊은 수심에 있다. 작은 무척추동물을 먹으며 번식기에 짝지어 다닌다. 난생.

Distribution: Southwest Pacific/southeast Australia, Lord Howe and Norfolk Is. to N. New Zealand and Kermade Island.
General: Genus Amphichaetodon species only 2 including this fish. Alternating black and silver-white bars: yellow hue on back. A black stripe along dorsal line of the snout. Inhabit rocky reefs with some live corals, depth range 10~150m. Typically at least 50m, but occasionally shallow. Oviparous. Form pairs during breeding.
