분포; 서태평양/한국의 제주도, 동중국해, 남중국해에 분포한다.
일반개요; 몸과 머리는 측편되었고 등의 외곽선은 거의 직선이다. 살아있을 때 눈 아래에서 위턱까지 두 줄의 은백색 선이 있다. 검은 반점들이 등지느러미 중간에 수평으로 줄지어 있다. 가슴지느러미와 꼬리지느러미의 상단 기조가 흑색이다. 등지느러미 앞 등의 중심선에 흑색 선이 있다. 꼬리지느러미 반 상단 쪽에 노란색 수평방향 무늬 4~5개가 있다. 수심 50~150m의 모래, 개펄 바닥에 서식한다.

Distribution: Jeju Island in southern Korea, East and South China Sea.
General: Head and body compressed. Dorsal margin almost straight. Strong teeth on both jaws. Mid lateral line before dorsal fin black. Dorsal fin with one row of black spots. Upper margin of pectoral and caudal fin black. 2 silver-white vertical lines below eye when alive. Caudal fin with 4~5 yellow lateral stripes when alive. Inhabits muddy or sandy bottoms from 50~150m depth
