D/spine7, soft ray15, A/spine2, soft ray12, P₁/17~18, P₂/spine1, soft ray5, LL/47~53.
분포; 서태평양/한국의 남해, 일본 중부 이남, 타이완, 동중국해에 분포.
일반개요; 몸과 머리는 측편되었고 등의 외곽선은 거의 직선이다. 턱에 강한 이가 있고 눈은 머리의 등쪽에 치우쳐 있다. 살아있을 때 눈의 앞쪽 아래에서 위턱까지 내려가는 은백색 줄무늬는 1개이다. 꼬리지느러미의 상반부에 노란색 수평 줄무늬들이 있고 하반부에는 노란색 점들이 있다. 수심 30~300m의 모래, 개펄 바닥에 서식한다.

Distribution: Western Pacific: southern Korea, south of central Japan, Taiwan and East China Sea.
General: Body and head compressed, dorsal margin almost straight, with strong teeth on both jaws. Eye close to dorsal margin of the head. One silve-white vertical line below eye when alive. Upper half of caudal fin with yellow lateral stripes when alive, lower half with yellow spots. Inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms at depth of 30~300m.
