분포; 서태평양: 필리핀과 중국 사이의 중국해에 분포한다.

일반 개요; 목(아가미 부분)에 색상이 진한 칼라 반문이 없다(※목도리 모양의 띠/collar marking). 한 쌍의 수염이 입이 아닌 목 아래에 있다. 몸에 검은 점들은 없고 6개 내지 10개의 희미한 안장 무늬가 있다. 배 위의 안장 무늬는 몸통을 둘러싸며 배지느러미까지 내려온다. 외해 깊은 수심(180~190m) 바닥에 살며 크기는 34cm 정도다.  상업적 가치가 없어서 잡히더라도 버려진다. 생태적으로 알려진 내용이 거의 없다. 난생이다. (※barbelthroat: 수염 난 목)

Distribution: Western Pacific: China Sea between Philippines and China.

General: Found in between 180 and 190 m. Pair of barbel on throat, no light or dark spots. Six or ten diffuse saddle marks on dorsal surface, saddles above abdomen rounded and continuing above pelvic-fin base. Gill region without collar marking. Found offshore near or on the bottom. Its length is up to 34 cm. Probably taken as discarded by-catch of offshore trawl fisheries in the area. Ecology unknown. Oviparous.
