Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-26; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 22 - 24.
분포; 인도•서태평양/일본의 오키나와, 필리핀, 타일랜드 만, 인도네시아, 오만, 페르시아 만, 홍해에 분포.
일반개요; 몸의 기본색은 은청색, 은백색이지만 이 기본색을 출발점으로 해서 진한 노랑색 바탕에 오렌지색 점들이 산재하는 마지막 변색 단계와 그 사이에 중간 변색 단계들이 나타난다. 아가미뚜껑 상단 가장자리에 검은 점이 없다. 가슴부분은 하부 중심선에만 비늘이 없다. 2~50m 수심의 암초 사면이나 절벽에서 소수가 무리를 짓는다. 유어는 내만 쪽 안전한 곳에서 단독 생활을 한다.

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific/Okinawa in Japan, Philippines, Gulf of Thailand, Indonesia, Oman, Persian Gulf and Red Sea.
General: Ground color usually silvery, but occasionally almost entirely orange-yellow, and stages between silvery and orange-yellow. No black spot on upper edge of opercle. Breast mostly scaled but naked at the middle of the belly. In small groups along reef slopes, 2 to 50m. Juveniles in sheltered coastal bays.
