분포; 서북태평양/한국의 동해와 남해, 일본 홋카이도 이남, 동중국해에 분포.
일반개요; 등지느러미의 제3 제4 극조가 길게 연장되었다. 아가미 뚜껑 가장자리의 아가미막이 진한 선홍색이다. 체고가 낮은 편이다. 체색은 황적색이며 청색점들이 불규칙하게 산재한다. 다소 깊은 수심 바위 지역, 모래 바닥 쪽에 서식한다. 가을철에 산란한다.

Distribution: Northwestern Pacific/eastern and southern waters in Korea, Southern Hokkaido southward to Kyushu of Japan, East China Sea.
General: 3rd and 4th dorsal spines elongated into filament. Body depth relatively shallow. Bright red region on gill membrane large. Yellowish red in body color, with metalic blue spots scattered. Occurs in sublittoral zone on sand to rock bottoms. Spawn in autumn. A important foodfish.
