경골상강/Superclass Osteichthyes(bony fishes)→조기강/Class Actinopterygii(ray-finned fishes)→ 색줄멸목/Order Atheriniformes(silversides)→색줄멸과/Family Atherinidae(Silversides)
색줄멸과 Family Atherinidae(Silversides).

Family Atherinidae(Silversides) 14 genera, 69 species worldwide and genera with 2 species in Korea. Most species are marine. However, there are about 50 species confined to freshwater and others that enter freshwater. Silversides are distributed from tropical to temperate waters. Silversides are relatively small with most being less than 20 cm in length, with several not attaining lengths of more than 5 cm, the largest 50cm. Body elongate and slender. Top jaw not extendable. Small teeth present on both jaws and sometimes the front of the roof of the mouth. Gill rakers generally large; large eyes; Two widely separated dorsal fins, the first with flexible spines and the second with one spine followed by soft rays; anal fin with one spine followed by soft rays; pectoral fins high on body above mid-level of eye; mouth small and terminal; no lateral line; broad silvery lateral band (black in preserved specimens); pelvic fins usually abdominal(I, 5). Tail fin forked. No lateral line. Scales relatively large(usually 31-50 in lateral series, more in Labidesthes), scales smooth. Vertebrae 32-60(fewer in Stenatherina). With a silver stripe along mid-side. Feed on zooplankton.
