독돔과 Family Banjosidae(Banjofishes)
세계에 단 1속 1종만 알려져 있다. 주로 한국의 남해, 일본  남부 및 동중국해에서 발견되는 종이다. 하스돔과 어류(예, 군평선이)와 비슷하게 생겼다. 등지느러미 앞에서부터 주둥이까지가 거의 가파른 직선에 가깝다. 측선은 완전하다. 체고가 높고 심하게 좌우로 납작하다. 최대 30cm이다.

Family Banjosidae(Banjofishes)
One genus with one species globally. Western Pacific, primarily coasts of China, southern Japan, and Korea. Body deep, strongly compressed, head with steep nearly straight profile. Lateral line complete. Closely resembles the pomadasyids(grunts). Maximum length about 30cm(TL).
