(임시명)가시나무상어목(Order Echinorhiniformes/Bramble sharks)
본목에는 (임시명)가시나무상어과(Family Echinorhinidae; Bramble sharks) 1과만 있다. 종전에 돔발상어목에 있다가 독자적인 목으로 떨어져 나왔다(Nelson 2006). 세계에 1속 2종이 기록되었다. 대서양, 인도•서태평양의 찬 바다에서부터 온대 및 열대해역의 저층에서 산다. 피부에 많은 가시가 돋아있다. 마지막 아가미구멍이 가장 크다. 난태생이며 난황태반은 없다.  

Order Echinorhiniformes(bramble sharks).
This order includes only one Family Echinorhinidae(bramble sharks). Bramble sharks were placed in the Squaliformes, but now are placed in their own order(Nelson 2006). Wide-ranging, deepwater sharks in cold-temperate to tropical seas in Atlantic, western Indian, and Pacific. Globally one genus, with two species. Ovoviviparous and lack a yolksac placenta.
