분포; 전세계 해양의 열대와 아열대 바다에 분포(지중해 제외).
일반개요; 흔하지 않은 종이며 주로 바라쿠다의 몸에 붙는다. 다른 물고기나 바다거북을 숙주로 삼기도 한다. 흡반의 석쇠무늬 가로줄은 9~11쌍이다. 위는 흑청색이며 배쪽은 백색이다. . 외양성이며 단독 유영해 다니기도 한다.

Distribution: Worldwide in tropical and subtropical waters, except Mediterranean Sea.
General: Bluish black above, white below. Sucking disc with 9~11 pairs of laminae. Rare oceanic species. Most often found attached to barracudas but also to other fishes and sea turtles. Also free swimming.
