분포; 서태평양/일본의 유구열도, 오가사와라 섬, 오스트레일리아의 대보초, 뉴칼레도니아에 분포.
일반개요; 산호초지대에 살며 무리 짓는다. 몸의 검은 선들이 사선이다. 야행성이며 밤에 바닥에
사는 무척추동물을 잡아먹는다. 유어는 얕은 물의 보호된 장소에서 홀로 숨어 산다. 팔라우 섬에서 관찰된 것으로 초승달 밤에 떼로 모여서 산란을 한다.

Distribution; Western Pacific/from Ryukyu Islands to Ogasawara Islands to the Great Barrier Reef and New Caledonia.
General; Singly or in aggregations, inner to outer to outer reefs. With diagonal stripes. Juveniles solitary on shallow protected reefs. Generally nocturnal, feeding on benthic invertebrates in open sand flats and seagrass beds at night and conspicuously rests during the day. At Palau, it aggregates to spawn around new moon
