Dorsal spines 10, Dorsal soft rays, 16-18, Anal spines 3, Anal soft rays 7-8.
분포; 인도양 동부에서부터 오스트렐리아 대보초 및 일본 남부까지 분포.
일반개요; 수컷은 등지느러미가 진한 빨강색이다. 암컷은 오렌지색에 노란 꼬리지느러미이다. 눈에서부터 가슴지느러미 기부까지 두 개의 노랑선이 있고 주둥이 끝에서부터 눈 밑으로 분홍빛 선 무늬가 지나간다. 배지느러미 앞쪽 기조가 아주 길게 연장되었다. 1~18m 수심 암초 조류가 원활하게 부딪치는 언덕 꼭대기에 무리를 지어 살며 암컷이 수컷보다 훨씬 많다. 플래임 안시아스(Flame anthias: Pseudanthias ignitus)와 매우 유사.

Distribution: East Indo-Pacific: Eastern Indian Ocean, the Great Barrier Reef, north to Yaeyama Islands in Japan.
General: Male displays a bright red dorsal fin. Female orange with yellowish tail. 2 narrow yellowish bars extended from eye to pectoral fin base. A pink line from the tip of snout angling down, passing through the lower part of the eye, with greatly extended ventral fins. Found at the upper-edge of steep outer reef slopes with moderate currents. Occurs in large aggregations, females far outnumber males. Depth range 1~18m. Very similar to Pseudanthias ignitus in Indian Ocean.
