분포;
동북부 대서양/노르웨이 남부에서부터 스코틀랜드와 북해, 남으로는 알제리, 모로코, 서 사하라, 및 지중해 전체에 분포한다. 흑해에는 없다. 브리티쉬 아일스(British Isles), 북해, 지중해, 카나리아 제도, 모리타니아에 분포.
일반 개요; 조간대에서부터 200m 수심까지의 대륙붕 바닥에서 살며 흔히 있다. 모래나 자갈 바닥을 선호한다. 몸 색은 회색 내지 회갈색이며 등 위쪽에 하얀 점들이 있고 배는 백색이다. 몸이 길고 가늘며 주둥이는 다소 둥글고 이빨이 조금 앞으로 튀어나와 있다. 2개의 등지느러미는 모양은 같고 크기는 앞의 것이 더 크다. 꼬리지느러미 상엽에 패인 각이 있고 하엽은 중간급 크기이다. 게, 집게, 바다가재 등 갑각류를 주식한다. 난태생이며 한 배에 7~15마리의 새끼를 낳는다. 분만시 크기는 약 30cm 이다. 식용으로 이용된다. |

Distribution:
Northeast Atlantic: from southern Norway, Scotland, and the North Sea southwards to Algeria, Morocco, and Western Sahara. It is found in the whole of the Mediterranean, but not in the Black Sea.
General:
A common inshore shark found from intertidal down to at least 200m depth. Prefers sandy and gravelly bottom. It is grey or greyish-brown with a scattering of small white spots on its dorsal (upper) surface and white on its ventral (under) surface. It is a long, lean fish with a somewhat rounded snout and rows of shallowly projecting teeth. The two dorsal fins are of similar shape, but the hindmost one is a little smaller than the foremost.
