분포; 인도•서태평양:/한국의 남해, 일본 남부, 남중국해, 오스트렐리아 서북부, 뉴칼레도니아에 분포.
일반개요; 눈은 머리의 왼쪽에 있다. 몸은 긴 타원형으로 후반부의 체고가 낮다. 수컷은 등지느러미의 제2 기조가 실처럼 연장되어 있다. 유안측의 비늘은 둥글다. 주둥이는 뾰족하다. 수심 80~150m의 모랫바닥이나 개펄 바닥에 산다.

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: southern Korea, southern Japan, South China Sea, northwestern Australia, and New Caledonia.
General: Eyes on left side of the body. Laterally elongated oval shape with low depth posteriorly. 2nd dorsal ray elongated into filament in males. Scales cycloid on ocular side. Without distinct dark spots on pectoral and pelvic fins.
