분포; 인도•서태평양/페르시아 만, 몰디브, 인도네시아, 필리핀, 일본에 분포.
일반개요; 암회색 내지 암청회색 바탕에 비늘마다 노란색을 띤 타원형이 나타난다. 눈 뒤에 백색 칼라(collar) 마크가 있다. 꼬리지느러미가 붉으며 등지느러미와 뒷지느러미의 가장자리도 붉다. 3~15m 수심의 산호초에 살며 산호 폴립을 먹는다. 난생. 두 마리 짝지어 다니거나 큰 무리를 이루기도 한다.

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific/ Persian Gulf, Maldives, Indonesia, Philippines and Japan.
General: Dark grey or bluish dark grey overall with pale scale centers and red tail, margins of dorsal and anal fins narrowly red, white collar marking behind eye. Inhabit coral reefs in 3~20m depth. Often in pairs, may form large aggregations. Feed on coral polyps. Oviparous.
