D/spine11, soft ray15~16. A/spine3, soft ray8~9. P₁/soft ray17~19.

분포; 서북태평양: 한국의 제주도 포함 남해, 일본 중부 이남, 타이완, 중국, 남중국해, 베트남에 분포.
일반개요; 등지느러미의 연조부와 꼬리지느러미의 가장자리가 노란색인 점이 유사종과 구별된다. 두 눈 사이가 약간 볼록하다. 바위, 모래•펄 바닥에 서식하며 보통 10~50m 수심에서 발견된다. 유어는 얕은 조간대에서 서식한다. 태어날 때는 암수동체이다.

Distribution: Northwest Pacific: Southern Korea, south of central Japan, Taiwan, China, South China Sea, and Viet Nam.
General: Head and body compressed. Margins of dorsal soft rays and caudal fin yellow. Slightly convex between eyes. Occurs in rocky areas as well as on sandy-mud bottoms. Juveniles are common in tide pools. Depth range 10~50m. Protogynous hermaphrodite.
