분포; 일본 사가미 만에서부터 남쪽으로 동중국해에 분포한다.
일반 개요; 358–895 m 수심의 대륙붕 사면에서 산다. 저인망 어선에 잡어로 잡힐 수 있으나 이 상어에 대해 알려진 것이 거의 없다. 간에 스콸렌이 많다고 알려져 있다. 난생이다. ※ salamander: 도룡용

Distribution: From Japan and the East China Sea.
General; Little known catshark, on the upper to middle continental slope from 358–895 m. Attains at least 64 cm TL. A potential bycatch of trawl fisheries operating within its range, but no details are available. There are high levels of squalene in its liver. Reproduction is oviparous.
