분포; 인도양 동부/오스트레일리아 서북부에 분포한다(닝갈루 암초, 노스 웨스트 케이프, 무리온 제도, 로즈마리 제도, 댐피어 제도)
일반개요; 몸과 지느러미들이 밝은 노란색이며 오렌지 빛이 섞여있다. 등지느러미 아래 몸의 반에 해당하는 상부에 3개의 초콜릿 갈색의 반점이 있다. 머리, 가슴, 복부 가장자리 부분, 몸통의 위쪽 반 부분, 그리고 꼬리지느러미 앞 부분에 작은 원형 청색 점들이 다수 분포하고 있다. 점들은 안은 연한 청색이며 둘레가 진한 청색이다. 3개의 검은 반점 안에도 청색 점들이 들어가 있다. 지느러미들에도 청색 점들이 번져 있을 수 있다. 눈을 사선으로 관통한 브라운 색 얼룩이 있을 수 있다. 입술이 노랗다. 홍채는 어두운 황색이다. 지느러미와 목덜미에 난 가시는 아주 거세고 날카롭고 독이 흐른다. 가슴팍 중심축과 배지느러미 부분 복부 융기부에 비늘이 덮여있다. 전적으로 산호 밭에 의지해 살며 특히 아크로포라 산호들 사이에 산다. 2마리 쌍으로 발견된다.

Distribution; Eastern Indian Ocean/off the northwestern coast of Western Australia(Ningaloo Reef complex; North West Cape; Murion Islands; Rosemary Islands, Dampier Archipelago).
General; Sides of body and fins bright yellow with orange cast; 3 chocolate brown patches on upper half of body below spinous part of dorsal fin; head, thorax, ventral margin of body, upper half of sides, and caudal peduncle with blue pinhead-sized ocelli, with deep blue margin; ocelli also present within the 3 patches; fins may be invaded basally by blue ocelli. Brown smudge running diagonally through eye; yellow lips; dusky yellow iris. Fin and nape spines fairly stout, pungent, and venomous. Midline of thorax and pelvic ridges fully scaled. Strictly corallophilic, pairs living in area rich in hard coral, particularly Acropora.
